Found this in a bathroom at my college. A lot of guys had eating disorders in football and wrestling at my school and even in the rec league. I remember guys taking laxatives before weigh ins even.

Male eating disorder awareness ~

Wrestling is infamous for that kind of shit. It’s one of the reasons my brother left the sport— his coaches were ENCOURAGING him to engage in unsafe behavior.

I’ve seen a lot of it the other way round, especially in rugby, I know several men who were encouraged to go to unsafe measures to gain weight.

Yes. ^^^ The masculinization of eating disorders. I knew some wrestling guys back in high school - it became this competition as to who could lose then keep of their weight the best. The guys would have competitions to see who could go the longest without eating, and if you lost, of course, you were a “pussy”
Thankfully a suspension went on while they reviewed these practices that were of course encouraged by the coaches.

Almost every wrestler I’ve met has engaged in ridiculously dangerous behavior at the encouragement of their coaches and even their own parents. My cousin would do unsafe amounts of exercise and then barely eat or only eat baby food as he dropped weight at alarming rates. But no one ever acknowledges these behaviors as being dangerous because it’s “for a sport”. We need to put an end to this.

My father did this as a wrestler, and acknowledged it as ‘normal’ when we were young. You’d fast before competitions, weigh in, and then you’d go drink water and eat!
THAT’S NOT NORMAL. That’s not SAFE. D:

Please pray for this person, this person of such little faith. Please also pray for our Holy Father Pope Francis.
While I hate to post such a horrendous comment, I feel there is a strong need to pray for a person experiencing such darkness. This person’s hate is an opportunity for our love.

I’m not even surprised someone would dare say this in public.

we need to stand up for the victims of domestic violence and show that we care. now it’s the NHL’s turn to show that they care. and a paid suspension is not caring about the victim its caring about their image. how about sending his paycheck to pay for the hospital bill of the victim or any counseling the victim may need?

i think it’s funny how christianity made a big deal about mary being impregnanted by god and everyone was like “oh my god the son of god! we must worship him listen to his great wisdom.”

meanwhile, if you said god knocked you up in ancient greece they’d just be like “yeah, me too.”

Okay, I laughed.

Peanut Butter Stuffed Chocolate Covered Apples!

- Apple

- 1 or 2 tbsp pb

- 7-10 oz dark chocolate (or whichever you want)

** slice the apple into big-ish slices, and slice those into small to medium slices (this can be skipped and you can just cut them into regular slices at once etc)

** slather peanut butter on those slices, as much as you like, then ‘stick’ them back together

** stick them in the fridge so that it hardens slightly, at this time melt the dark chocolate

** once the chocolate is melted and the apples aren’t ‘sliding’, wait for the chocolate to slightly cool before coating the apples with them.

** stick them back in the fridge till it hardens into a shell!

** enjoy! x
